UBS Universal Adaptive
Linear/Non-Linear Precorrector
Model: UAP 1000
· Fully adaptive non-linear and linear pre-correction
· Supported Standards: DVB-T, CMMB, ATSC, DAB, DTMB
· Wide frequency range and signal bandwidth
· Two modes of operation: “Continuous Adaptation” and “Single Run”
· Pre-correction curves and filter coefficients management
· Extensive transmitted signal quality measurements (MER/SNR, Spectrum, etc.)
· Highly informative GUI with signal plots: constellation, pre-correction performance, signal structure
· Pre-correction logs/history
· Can be used as a receiver for remote monitoring of the transmitted signal quality
· Can be used during transmitter manufacturing and tuning stage
· Signal Path Calibration
· Should be used with UBS Universal Modulator to apply Adaptive Pre-correction
Overview
The new Universal Adaptive Pre-corrector from UBS is used for compensation of non-linear and linear distortions caused by a High Power Amplifier (HPA) and output Band-Pass Filter (BPF).
The adaptive pre-corrector includes the main processing board, which is used for controlling the data capturing process and communication with the host. The external PC sets up the pre-corrector, queries the HPA and BPF captured data, calculates and plots results, and sends coefficients to the modulator.
The modulator DVB-T, CMMB, ATSC, DAB or DTMB waveform parameters are automatically detected and displayed by the adaptive pre-corrector.
All software needed to configure and calibrate the unit as well as display the non-linear and linear pre-correction results is provided Upper and lower sideband, MER, constellation, spectrum analyzer, LUT curve, eye diagram and signal level measurements are provided for the Non-linear pre-corrector. Group delay, spectrum analyzer, equalizer and LP filter frequency response measurements are provided for the Linear pre-corrector.
Non-linear and Linear curves can be save and loaded using the Pre-corrector Data Loader software provided. Curves can be saved on the modulator’s SD card or on the control PC.
The Unit is intended for indoor use and is built in a standard 1U EIA 19-inch rack mounting assembly.
Performance
· Up to 2 usec GD compensation with in band ripple less than 0.5 dB
· Up to 17 dB “shoulder” level reduction (depends on HPA)
