Overview
The DTX 2000U transmitter is designed to provide Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting service over the UHF frequency band from 470 MHz up to 860 MHz. The DTX2000U employs one power amplifier module with the digital RF output power of 280 Watts.
The UBwaveTX™ transmitter performs conversion of the MPEG transport stream to COFDM modulated IF signal, converts this IF signal to the RF signal at selected transmit channel frequency within the UHF band and provides RF signal amplification up to required output power level. The power level stability at the transmitter RF output is maintained by internal automatic level control loop.
The UBwaveTX™ transmitter can be configured to support any one of the existing modulation standards, currently accepted for Digital TV Broadcasting: DVB-T and DVB-H.
The operation parameters of the Transmitter are monitored and controlled by embedded system controller. The Transmitter parameters monitoring and setting could be performed from the front panel display or using remote control interfaces (Ethernet, SNMP or RS232).
With an optional integrated DVB-S/S2 Receiver/Demodulator module, the UBwaveTX™ transmitter could be configured as a Terrestrial Repeater, which receives the input data stream from the satellite downlink and re-broadcasts this signal in COFDM format.
All the Transmitter/Repeater system components are installed in a standard 19” rack cabinet intended for indoor operation. The transmitter components are cooled with the forced air.
Building Blocks
DVB-T/H COFDM Modulator, which receives the ASI transport stream, performs input data processing, generates a COFDM IF output and provides signal synchronization. The Modulator also contains a pre-corrector module for both linear and non-linear output signal correction.
The RF Upconverter, which converts IF signal frequency to the RF channel frequency. The Upconverter covers the entire UHF frequency range from 470 MHz to 860 MHz in steps of just 1 Hz.
The Power Amplifier (PA), which represents the final amplification stage for the Transmitter output signal. The Power Amplifier is built using LD-MOS transistors technology, which operate in A+AB class and provides high efficiency and excellent reliability. The PA module employs its own microcontroller, which monitors operation parameters of the PA, provides protection against abnormal operation conditions and communicates with the system controller.
The Output Coupler on the output of the PA measures the output forward and reverse power level and reports data to the PA Controller.
The System Controller monitors and controls the entire Repeater system, as well as provides local and remote interfaces for all the command and status functions. The transmitter can be operated locally via front panel (LCD display and cursor/execute keys) or via RS232 interface. Remote control is available via WEB GUI and SNMP control interface.
The Power Supply unit, which provides all necessary voltages to the transmitter modules.
An optional DVB-S/S2 QPSK Receiver/ Demodulator, which receives the satellite signal and outputs the ASI transport stream, could be installed.
